"Viva! Paraguay!"
Mariano Gonzalez & Nicolas Caballero at Carnegie Hall
—
October 2005
For this awe-inspiring event, their fans gathered from all over the world in the center of New York City. Mariano Gonzalez & Nicolas Caballero performed their national instruments: Arpa Paraguaya (Paraguayan Harp) in Carnegie Hall. Their acoustic sound reached deep into the heart of audience. Nicolas's "El Tren Lechro" and "Campamento Cerro Leon" were intense and dramatic. Mariano's "Pirrita" and "Quisiera Ser/Alto Parana" were tender and majestically beautiful. Among their lofty performance, Mariano's original song, "Camino A Buena Vista" in particular received massive standing ovation and was highly praised by critics and professional musicians.
This concert was a monumental step for Paraguayan Harpists. Mariano and Nicolas's sophisticated performance elevated status of Paraguayan Harps.
